Saavn: UX Case Study
To Improve User Experience & Highlight Major Features
OBJECTIVE
I love Saavn and have used it for a year now. On my usage, it helped me to get most addicted to the user interface updates, but some experience designs are still the same with problems. Therefore, I planned to research experience design features and improvements that will help users.
OVERVIEW
Saavn is Indian music and audio streaming service and digital distributor of English, Bollywood, and regional Indian music across the world. It acquired rights to over 40 million music tracks in 15 languages. Saavn is available on iOS, Android, Windows, and Web.
- Free User
We can play any song, anytime online. - Pro User
Can download any song in high quality, listen anytime offline without ads.
PROBLEMS
While synchronizing songs,
It downloads deleted songs along with offline songs.
Duplicate songs
In multi playlists and albums
Duplicate tracks are mostly found on playlists with different tags on album, name, and artists. When we download it offline, we will have the same song twice.
If the duplicate songs are arranged or reallocated correctly, we can save our space and date upon duplicate songs.
Pro - Online vs Offline
Pro-user can download and listen to songs anytime. But the most options are given only if they are in online mode.
In Offline mode, we cannot
- Add or edit a Song to a playlist.
- Share a song
- Star a song
- Delete a song
Here I found these three problems in the Saavn app the solutions to these problems will be added in the next story.
